He received his four-year Doctor of Chiropractic degree (D.C.) from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon in 1976. Dr. Raffelock has earned post-graduate diplomates (Board certifications) in three different specialties; (1) Nutrition (DACBN-Dimplomate American Chiropractic Board of Nutrition), (2) Acupuncture (Dipl. Ac.-NCCAOM certified), and (3) Applied Kenisiology (DIBAK-Diplomate International Board of Applied Kinesiology). He is also certified by the International and American Association of Clinical Nutritionists to practice clinical nutrition.
Currently, Dr. Raffelock maintains a holistic, multidisciplinary practice in Boulder, Colorado that includes structural care, acupuncture, and metabolic/nutritional care. He interprets functional tests (blood levels of nutrients, hormone tests, digestive and cardiovascular tests) for patients nationwide. He has a particular interest in helping mothers recover their lost nutritional reserves after giving birth in order to prevent and resolve many postpartum disorders. Guest: Steven Ivan Baskin, Pharm.D, Ph.D. Topic: Clinical Applications of Taurine Steven Ivan Baskin is one of the world's leading experts on the clinical applications of the amino acid taurine. Dr. Baskin is a pharmacologist and toxicologist, with research areas that include drug recovery, antidotes, as well as analytical and biochemical research. He attended the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA, where he graduated with honors with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. He then attended Ohio State University where he received a Ph.D. in Pharmacology-Toxicology. He then underwent post-doctoral training at Michigan State University in Pharmacology-Toxicology. Dr. Baskin is a Registered Pharmacist in Nevada and Pennsylvania, and is a diplomat of the American Board of Toxicology.
Dr. Baskin's groundbreaking research has provided evidence that taurine may function as neuromodulator in visual, cardiovascular and pathogenic cellular systems. Dr. Baskin has also discovered basic biochemical measurements that change during aging. He has developed methods for endotracheal administration of medicines which has been cited as the method of choice by the American Medical Association. He has also organized a cardiovascular pharmacology laboratory at United States Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense. Dr. Baskin is the President of the Association of Government Toxicology. He is author of chapters in two leading current texts in Toxicology.

Dr. Peldyak was a clinical investigator from the University of Michigan Xylitol Program from 1986 to 1995. He is author of numerous peer-reviewed journal articles on the metabolic effects of xylitol. Guest: Dr. Michael A. Schmidt Topic: Clinical Applications of Omega 3 Fatty Acids Dr. Michael A. Schmidt did his Ph.D. studies in Nutritional Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine with a specialization in Clinical Neuroscience. He has been a Visiting Scholar at NASA Ames Research Center, where he did hi Ph.D. research investigating the role of biological stressors on oxidative stress, cortisol induction, and molecular signaling in humans. He continues to do work with NASA human factors groups looking at autonomic and biochemical responses to various conditions, with emphasis on countermeasure development. Dr. Schmidt is the author of 5 books, including Brain Building Nutrition, which reviews the influence of fatty acids on brain architecture, function and performance. He is a co-editor of the text Clinical Nutrition: A Functional Approach and is also co-editor, along with the Chief Medical Officer at NASA Ames Research Center, of the forthcoming book, Nutritional Pharmacology and Clinical Neuroscience.

Born in Jamaica, he earned his PhD in cell biology at the University of California and conducted academic teaching and research at that institution until 1983, when he became interested in the antioxidant nutrients, free radicals, and their relationships to aging. This interest moved him into integrative medicine, where his scientific training and teaching skills soon established him as a leading researcher and educator.
